New MEC CNC "looper" unveiled at Spring World 2002
Erlanger, Ky. — Oriimec Corporation of America introduces a new MEC extension spring machine, the CLS-10V, which will be available in January 2003.
This latest evolution of the legendary MEC "looper" features a variety of dramatic advancements in spring-making technology, including:
- Sophisticated, easy-to-use CNC touch-screen controls
- Pre-installed program templates for extension springs with straight body, large diameter hook, and torsion attachment requirements (commonly used for extended hooks)
- Capable of extended hooks on both ends and/or a combination of hook types
- New hooking station geometry and handy pulse dialer for easier set-up
- Top production speed of 120ppm (7200pph).
The CLS-10V can make springs with a wire diameter of 0.12mm-1.0mm (0.004"-0.04"). It is unquestionably the most economic and competitive machine available for extension-spring production.
MEC, starting with its first coiling machines in 1972, has developed more than 30 different spring machines, including CNC multi-axis spring formers, CNC coiling machines for ultra-fine wire, NC spring formers and extension spring machines, and torsion spring machines.
