Orii KR Series Undergoes Full Model Upgrade
Erlanger, Ky. Oriimec Corporation of America introduces a new straightener/feeder to respond to the stamping industry’s demand for advancement and diversification of coil processing.
The most important advancement on the new KR straightener/feeder is the addition of 11 work rolls, offering an extraordinary level of flatness to the material. The work rolls have also been re-engineered for better maintenance, with easy-to-reach openings on both the top and bottom of the structure for cleaning.
Other significant improvements of the new KR are that the pass line height is easier to adjust and that the feed roll pressure and roll lift (pilot release) are now adjustable by the air regulator. The new LCC 04KR3 model can handle material up to 400mm (15.7”) wide and the coil weight can be up to 2,500kg (5,125 lbs). The roll lift can keep up with the press at high speeds of 120 SPM. With a maximum line speed of 16m/min, an impressive 30 percent increase in productivity can be achieved when compared with the 03KR2 model.
The new KR Series also features many of the items that come standard on the latest-model straightener/feeders, such as a CCS controller. The CCS system has been a great benefit to the industry, making high-level performance possible for specialized applications and contributing to faster automation and increased efficiency in the pressroom.
Features of the new KR series include:
- 11 Work Rolls- The new KR’s ability to provide superior flatness comes from 6 upper and 5 lower work rolls with a diameter of 48mm (1.8”) each, contributing to highly precise coil processing.
- Top and Bottom Work Roll Opening-The work rolls on the new KR can be reached from either the top or the bottom of the structure just by opening the cover, making cleaning the rolls much easier than on previous models. The upper door features an easy one-step button for opening and the lower door can be opened as much as 90 degrees.
- Uncoiler- The KR’s inverter system controls the variable speed of the uncoiler, causing starting and stopping functions to be gentle, so that scratches and other imperfections in the material caused by sudden stops and starts are minimized.
