Erlanger, Ky. MEC will display the SH-1 CNC coiling machine for ultra fine wire in the booth at the Medical Device & Manufacturing Show in Anaheim, California this year.
The 6-axis SH-1 coiling machine can make wire sizes from 0.0008" to 0.004" and features the following:
- Meticulous design which meets the demand of single-point fine wire coiling applications
- 8 Servomotor axes including: Wire Feed, Pitch, Arbor In/Out, Coil Diameter, Initial Tension, and Cutter
- Moveable feed unit with minute adjustment for easy wire and tool insertion
- Independent servomotor control with the pulse dialer which delivers the easiest possible set-up
- Pre-installed free-length gage interface
You can see the SH-1 at work in MEC's booth (#3198) at the MD&M West Show, January 31-February 2 at the Anaheim Convention Center.
Starting with its first coiling machines in 1972, MEC has developed more than 30 different spring machines, including CNC multi-axis spring formers, CNC coiling machines for ultra-fine wire, NC spring formers and extension spring machines, and torsion spring machines. Today, more than 5,000 MEC machines are at work in North America, Europe, Southeast Asia and Japan. MEC engineers coordinate the development of original software and hardware systems to meet each spring-maker's unique machine design needs. Every part of every MEC machine is subjected to stringent testing to ensure that it meets the highest standards for precision and performance.
